I LOVE books! I always have. I have fond memories of staying up until all hours of the morning finishing a book, waiting in line at midnight for a book, browsing bookstores and libraries, and going on grand adventures with characters that were so real to me.
Books are magical. Sometimes it seems to me that fewer and fewer people are reading books nowadays. But if you happen to have a book lover in your life, there are so many cool gifts you could give them… besides the obvious books, of course.
Scarves
Scarves are perfect gifts for the fall and winter, and there are book-themed ones! Some have sayings from books and some have quotes. There are Harry Potter scarves, Pride and Prejudice scarves, and this adorable Peter Pan scarf. They keep you warm and would be excellent conversation starters!
Bookmarks
Every reader has his or her own preferences for remembering where they were in a book. Some are okay folding the corners of the pages. Some flip the book over till they can read again. Some use the dust jacket as a bookmark. And then there are those who like a good old-fashioned bookmark.
There are some fun options for bookmarks, like this wicked witch bookmark that has feet sticking out of your book. There are bookmarks with quotes and whimsical metal bookmarks. There is seriously something for everyone.
Mugs
If you are looking to give your book lover more of a gift basket type gift, this would be perfect! Start with a fun mug. There are rainbow bookshelf mugs, mugs for introverts, and, of course, mugs for book addicts. Then add a few small things to make their reading experience even better. I mean, who doesn’t love to curl up with a book, some fuzzy socks, a comfy blanket, and a mug of hot chocolate?
Jewelry
Jewelry is a great way for people to express themselves. This necklace is perfect for the reader who never has enough time. Or there is this fun necklace in the shape of books. If you know your reader’s favorite books or characters, you can find more personalized gifts like this Alice in Wonderland bracelet or this Harry Potter golden snitch bracelet.
Lamps
Whether your reader likes to stay up late and read after the lights are out or simply likes book decor, there is a gift for him or her. Check out this reading light. It has adjustable settings and isn’t so bright it will hurt your eyes. Or you could always go with this awesome decorative book-shaped lamp.
Additional Ideas
Still haven’t had something catch your eye? Just like there are endless kinds of books in the world, all book lovers are unique. Consider this book lover’s page-a-day calendar or this shirt about re-entering society. Maybe this throw pillow is what you are looking for. Simple and unique.
Or, you know, you could always go with a good book. Or even a gift card to a bookstore. Couldn’t go wrong there!
