Why I Don’t Make My Toddler Say “Please”

I thought parenting would be easier. I mean, I knew it would be hard, but I didn’t know how hard. I thought things were cut and dry. I thought timeouts were as simple as putting the kid on a chair and setting a timer. I thought if I fed my kids fruits and veggies from the start they would eat healthy. My name is Bergan. I’m a married stay-at-home mom of two adorable boys. Sawyer is 5, and Griffin is 2.

I have always loved writing and have learned a lot from other moms’ blogs. But when my youngest ended up in the NICU with multiple health problems, I couldn’t find a lot of the information I was looking for online. My goal is to share helpful information and things I’ve learned and am still learning.

I love to create. I’m addicted to sugar and am such a picky eater. I’m not super social, but I try. I love country music and chilly fall days. I hate the summer. I miss dancing and reading and making my own schedule, but I am loving motherhood and taking care of my sweet boys. My toddler may like to tell me to “Just be happy, Mommy,” and that is exactly what I am trying to do.
