Pumpkin Chip Cookies

I absolutely freaking love these cookies! They are my favorite, and they turn out perfect every time. I never have to worry that they will be too doughy or too crunchy. One batch makes more than six dozen cookies. You can freeze them, and they are still amazing. I actually prefer them cold and keep them in the fridge.

“Homemade” Halloween Costumes

I was never really into Halloween costumes. I felt silly dressing up and hated the attention. Now that I have kids, I get excited about it! I personally love “homemade” costumes. I don’t mean every stitch has to be sewn at home. I just mean costumes that are put together by the person and not just bought all together at the store.

There’s nothing wrong with store bought costumes, of course. I just love the creativity and uniqueness that comes with putting a costume together. Plus, I love not wasting money, and when you put your own costume together, you’re more likely to reuse parts of it. Sooooo… I’ve compiled some of our simple, more “homemade” costumes for those who might be interested.

I’m a Bucket List Mom

…but that doesn’t mean our summer has been extravagant.

I’ve read some things lately about how bucket lists are for things you want to do before you die and not for the summer. I’ve read hate about how bucket lists make us feel like we need to do all of these extravagant things to live up to some ideal. I’ll admit that these articles made me feel like crap for a few minutes. But you know what? I am a bucket list mom, and that is perfect for me and my family.

My All-Time Favorite Amazon Orders

I love ordering things online! It’s twice the excitement as shopping in a store because I get to enjoy picking something out and then getting it in the mail!

On the other hand, I am picky about what I’m willing to pay shipping for, so I only order things I’m fairly sure I’ll like. I thought it might be fun to share some of my favorite Amazon buys from the last two years or so.

Family Trip Tips from a Newbie

We headed out on our first family trip as a family of four. I see now that it was very ambitious. 686 miles. A four-year-old and a two-year-old. First drive over 3 hours with kids. All in one day. Then there was Disneyland and the beach. All very overwhelming with kids.

I looked up plenty of tips and tricks and tried to prepare as best I could. But to be honest, I jumped into that trip knowing I would learn a lot and make plenty of mistakes. There were so many firsts and so many things I couldn’t account for. Now, I’m not one of those people that road trips once a month or goes to Disney twice a year. I don’t have tried-and-true tips for you. But maybe you could learn a thing or two anyway…

25 Days of Christ-Centered Christmas Music

I love Christmas time and usually start listening to Christmas music after Halloween. I know, I know, I’m one of those people. But the last few years I’ve noticed I’ve felt worn out on the music and the season by the time Christmas actually comes. Maybe it’s different because I’m an adult now. There’s more stress and more to do.

I’ve felt the need to bring some of the Christmas spirit and Christmas magic back this year, and I figured the best place to start was focusing on Christ. Continue reading “25 Days of Christ-Centered Christmas Music”
